The Eagle Picher company has a rich history. It was created in 1843 by the Kongkling brothers. They started with the production of coloring pigments and paint. In 1916, under the leadership of Oliver Picher, the company was merged with a mining company and began the production of lead-based paints. From that moment, Eagle Picher began its path to leadership positions in its industry.
The company has used and is using the advanced technologies of its time in its development. when it turned out that Eagle Picher owns large reserves of zinc, the company began producing accumulator batteries, which were used in the future by the American military in World War II.
Later, Eagle Picher engaged in the extraction and purification of the rare chemical element germanium, and subsequently used it in the production of the world's first transistor. In 2003, Eagle Picher celebrated its 160th anniversary.
